Folks,

The Marina Rotary Club does periodic humanitarian aid missions to Mexico, on
the Remote Baja Peninsula. A team of Rotarians and Doctors travel by Van to
Baja, and donate medical services, to locals. The next trip is around
Memorial Day, and will last about 7 days. There will be a space available
for a Ham radio operator on the crew. N6IJ (Marina Amateur Radio Contest
Station) is putting together an I-link System, teaming with the Mexican Hams
of Baja area (Ensenada) to implement a remote hand-held communications
capability from Baja Peninsula, directly to a hospital on the Monterey
Peninsula, via (probably) the WA6HHQ 440 repeater. Other repeater routes
may be explored. I (AA6EG)may go, depending on my work schedule, but if
not, I am looking for someone interested in an ALL EXPENSE PAID, week long,
trip to Baja, Mexico around Memorial Day. You should be, or become familiar
with I-link communications. We may also bring PSK 31 HF systems to test.
If you are interested in going to Mexico, and working on this Ham radio
communications exercise, contact me ASAP. Operators on this end of the link
are also needed.
