[GVARC] Comm Hut poss Avail@ Loma Prieta

Folks:

There is a good chance that our Good neighbors at the Army Reserve Center, 
will be able to move the Communications huts that have become available at 
Loma Prieta.  If our request for assistance is approved by the Military 
Higher ups, we will probably be bringing a crane and a large military 
flatbed (the kind they transport M-1 tanks with) up to Loma Prieta, to 
transport the Hut(s) back to N6IJ in Marina.

We may want only 1 of the 2 available, so, if there are any other ham 
organizations that are interested, we may be able to help them, too.
It might be a case of merely relocating a hut to another close-by Loma 
Prieta Lcoation that is useful to another ham group.

  The Army Reserve unit (check your local!) has been happy to assist with 
heavy equipment and expertise to move big objects for us at N6IJ.  This kind 
of work apparently qualifies under community service work that they are oft 
happy to do.
We really wish to thank Capt James B. Franklin, and his team of men, of the 
211th Transportation Co for his super generosity and offer to assist.

We may need some extra hands to assist this operation, so get in touch, if 
you would be interested in spending a day working at Loma Prieta....

If any ham organizations have a specific need for use of a Comm hut at Loma 
Prieta, contact us...
