Folks:

The Mexico Project is gaining momentum. This is ham radio at it's
finest...For those of you who don't know, we are bringing radio (including
ham radio) technology to some extremely needy, remote medical treatment
facilities in Baja California. To give you an idea, the two towns are:

San Vicente, the Larger (!) (about the size of Gonzales) and

Ejido Erendira the smaller (about the size of New Idria)

Both villages have extremely limited, crude Medical Clinics (not even any
phones in Erendira) Neither of the clinics have radios...

We plan to change that...many lives will be definitely saved through our ham
radio efforts....

Mostly a Rotary-International Humanitarian project, and now involving many
people, Rotarians,non-Rotarians, and LOTS and LOTS of Ham radio operators
both north and South of the border.
Literally dozens of Emails have been sent, I-link has been used, and PSK31
and other HF modes are coming into play.

If you want to be included in the email planning list, for this project,
please let me know. If you want an all expenses paid trip to Baja
Mexico.... that is possible too. (This will be really fun, disguised as
work!) Contact me for more information.

BY THE WAY:
If you can set up a reflector for this Mexico Humanitarian -Ham Radio
Mission...FOR SURE, contact me!

Unfortunately, just as in any large group of people, you will find stealth
Curmudgens. Some of these unknown, unrevealed folks from the shadows, have
locked us out of the nearest high density hi-value ham communications
Channel, the Mobie Reflector, serving the ENTIRE central coast ham
community. Our posts to Mobie often generated raves, even awards from some
clubs, and many many thanks for the useful information contributed, and I
never posted anything there that could be considered to be inappopriate, or
unseemly.

I don't know who the specific persons are, and it is really not important,
but could you write to some Central Coast ham community leaders to see if
their leadership skills can be brought to bear, and un-jam the closed port
of Mobie? Many hams, both north and south of the border would be very
appreciative. Send this email along with your comments to:

Ed West: [email protected]

or

Rick Lagerstrom: [email protected],

or Mobie itself:

[email protected]

See if they can stop the destructive, curmudgeon-lyness going on at Mobie,
and open the channel, especially in light of this incredible humanitarian
mission opportunity.

Contact me if you want to help in Mexico....

Sincerely,

Pat, AA6EG/N6IJ
