The Teletype Corp. originally had a museum covering the early days of
telegraphy through the research and development of their various
products. Unfortunately, as the company grew, the space that the Museum
consumed was needed for office space and the Museum was closed in the
late 1970s, with all artifacts put into storage. Luckily, photographs of
the Museum artifacts had been taken before it was dismantled, and
long-time Teletype Corp. engineer Ransom Slayton used these photos to
make a video tour of the Museum as it was in the 1970s. The surviving
copy of this video recording was in poor condition, but the original
slides used to make the video were available.
The Electronic Communications Museum of the Antique Wireless Association
has re-mastered this presentation. Non AI image processing has been used
to improve the shadow detail in the original slides and non-generative
AI audio processing was used to improve the sound track and remove the
background music.
