John,
The M 14BA & BR tape printers with external Range control were typically
used in telephone company TTY test boards, so that they could easily
test for distortion on the line.
Do you have the full cast aluminum scale that is broken? If not, I have
some pictures of similar units that might help in reproducing the scale.
