I assume you have friction feed units.
Check this: There is a bracket that holds a return spring for the line
feed drive link coming up from the function area. The travel of the link
is limited by a projection on this bracket. The bracket is fastened to
the frame with two screws and the screw slots in the bracket allow its
vertical adjustment. There is supposed to be a plastic bumper on this
bracket that the drive link actually rests on. With time, the plastic
bumper becomes glassy and literally shatters. This changes spacing wrt
the drive link.
On my 32 and 33, I fashioned new bumpers out of a piece of hard rubber
scavenged from a chunk of automobile weather stripping and re-positioned
the bracket. I also tweaked the pry points on the linkage from the drive
link to the feed pawl.
