I have the same problem with the 33 I've been working on. I've concluded that I need to adjust the length of the linkage from the LF decoder (under the code bars) to the ratchet that feeds the paper. There is a nice adjustment point for that, typical Teletype style, a bolt you loosen just a little and then some pry points where you can, with a screwdriver, pry the link a bit longer or shorter.

The problem? The screw I need to turn to loosen that pry point is on very tight, and the head of the screw faces one of the carriage supports so closely that I can't use a screwdriver on it. Like many TTY screws, it has a hex head, but the clearance doesn't even let me slip a box wrench over it. I'm tempted to manufacture a custom wrench, unless someone has a better idea.

(Oh yes, I accidentally left it plugged in while out of the room, and it now chatters continuously when the switch is off. I also need to trouble shoot that. Ick.)

This will be an issue in a month or two, because we finally got the U of Iowa PDP-8 to execute code from memory. I believe we'll be ready to celebrate it's 60th birthday by running some demos on it. It was delivered to the U of Iowa in late 1965.
