[GreenKeys] Pulling vs Holding selector magnets

 Jim,
 Ah ha! Just as I suspected. A holding magnet would need some mechanical help to get pulled in.I for sure am dealing with a pulling magnet.That just leaves me with one question. Does the pulling magnet operate on 60mA?

There is a very serious difference between the two types 
of selector magnets ...  the Holding type actually has a cam 
on the main shaft that pushes the armature against the sel. 
magnet core, this avoiding the need for the magnetism from 
the loop current to do all that work of moving the armature; 
the PULLING magnet needs a lot of magnetic power to pull 
that armature from resting [space] up against the magnet 
core [mark]...  so clearly the Holding magnet is preferable !! 

But you don't really have a choice on any one machine, 
because without that cam on the main shaft you don't 
have the push for the holding magnet.
