[GreenKeys] Pulling vs Holding selector magnets

GKs,
  How do I know if my M15 is using a pulling magnet vs a holding magnet?Why do the two variations exist?
I know my coils are in series and measure 110 ohms each.The schematic for the holding magnet type says series coils are 0.020A (not 0.060A.)I don't know if this  applies to pulling magnets and don't know which type I have.Makes sense that series coils would draw less current all other things being equal.So my loop needs to be 0.020A?Guess I could do a test and see how many amps my coils pull in at.
Just thinking out loud.....Would a holding magnet type use some other method of doing the pull in?Some mechanical link from the main shaft to pull the magnets in?
