Forgot to add part of my main question; of course it would only come to me
after I hit "Send" on the first e-mail...

Are there any particularly sensitive parts of the ST-5000 that could go
awry in the hopefully unlikely event of poor shipping practice (packing
and/or handling)? This one's (understandably) got a hefty shipping price
so I'm weighing that factor in, too.
