If you know what you are doing when you are backfeeding its not much
of a problem.......
But the the key is "knowing exactly what you are doing."...

You can also run the generator in an enclosed space with all the doors
and windows closed
"if you intend to kill everything in the room"
They have warnings all over the generator about that!! LOL! And it
works good too!! LOL!!
It is how I keep my detached garage free of mice and bugs!
The lawn mower works well too for that purpose with some oil in the gas.
