[GreenKeys] ASR - 33 keyboard questions

Hi Greenkeys,

I'm new here. I've been trying to get my hands on an ASR-33 for many,

many years and have finally acquired one in fairly poor condition - but
I think it will restore quite nicely with a bit of work.

I'm working on the keyboard right now and have a few questions that I'm
hoping someone can help with. Firstly, how can I identify the parity
version of the keyboard from the non-parity version? By comparing
pictures with the documentation I _think_ I have the parity version, but
it's difficult to be sure.

Secondly, I'm not entirely sure that the keyboard was assembled
correctly when I received it. The previous owner got the machine from an
estate sale and told me that when he got it the keyboard was completely
disassembled so he re-assembled it but is not sure that he did it right
- and I'm certain there are at least a couple of issues with it.  For
one thing, the universal lever was not actually in the keyboard - it was
loose in the bag of screws and bits along with the H-link.  I have fed
it through the slot that it is supposed to be in and put it on the pivot
on the side-cheek but I'm not sure that everything is in the correct
spot with it. I'll need to figure that out later, I think I can
determine that using the documents I have...

But I'm also not sure that the encoder bars are all in the correct
order.  I have not removed them yet, but I can see that two of them
appear to be 'general purpose' (i.e. replacement) bars where the tabs

were broken off by an engineer where needed. Most of the bars seem OK

but towards the back there is a pair of bars that do not compliment
each-other... There are spots where it has raised key-ways in the same
place on both bars so that certain keys that press those bars cannot
press down because they're pressing on both opposing bars at the same

time.  Does anyone know what the issue might be? Could it be an
incorrect bar or is it possible that one of them is just flipped around?
I'm not sure if it is possible to reverse them...  And does anyone know
the order that the bars should be in? I can see part numbers on the tabs
for the bars but they don't seem to indicate to me any natural order...

Finally, I'm not sure how the contacts on the end work...  The
documentation has not made it clear to me an when I look a it, it's not
looking right... For one thing, not all of the vertical wires are going
into plastic levers - and in some cases multiple wires are going into

the same lever... I'm assuming there should be one wire per lever and I
think there is if I just move them around. But the levers don't really
appear to me to actually even do anything with the wires - maybe they're
not on right at all? I'll attach some pictures and hopefully someone can
just give me a couple of helpful hints on what it _should_ look like so
I can re-arrange it - or a functional description on how it is supposed
to look.

Thanks and cheers!

Troy.
