Yes, there were many different type cylinders and I guess it wasn't too
hard to make another different one.  You'll note on the analysis chart
that MIT and Stanford had their own cylinders, and we also had one for
University of California, Santa Cruz when I worked there.

There was a major change in ASCII between 1963 and 1967-68, and one of
the problems we had was that computers using 1963 ASCII had to make do
with 1968 ASCII terminals and vice versa.  For example, some versions
of ALGOL 60 allowed the left arrow character as a substitute for the
:= assignment character, and the left arrow was removed in 1965-68
ASCII and replaced with the under bar character.
