If you want to know all there is to know about the Flesher TU-170,
here is the manual. I cannot remember where I downloaded it.
Since the Flesher apparently was sold as a kit, the first step is to
examine the solder joints to make sure it was wired well. Then
keep an eye out for trouble in case there is a wiring error.
Follow the alignment procedure in the book to make it perfect.
Normally I can always use one more Terminal Unit, but the Flesher
has both sides of he loop hot. With my system using four loops
available in three places with over 200 feet of wire, I need TU's with
one side of the loop at ground.
Right now I am using two Heathkit HD-3030's, One to drive my news
loop and one to drive my TTY Artwork loop. The Heathkits are connected
to the earphone jacks on the computers that generate those streams.
I am able to test two Teletypes at once, each typing a different stream.
My rack-mount Dovetron is still on the bench.
In the summer my whole life becomes repairing lawnmowers and cutting
grass. Electonics and Teletypes get put on hold for a while.
