Yes, these are 1/4" 4-channel and 8-channel instrumentation recorders, 
with most recordings made at the non-standard tape speed of 15/32 ips, 
with a non-standard equalization curve.  For the FAX recordings, one 
track contains a tape transport servo reference signal which is fed back 
to the transport capstan servo during playback.  This feedback mechanism 
is necessary to prevent picture skew.  It is very unlikely they would 
have compatible equipment, but if they do, I could provide tapes...
