That's the brand my wife learned about through the stamp-collecting world, where it seems to have become the standard way to remove the gum from self-adhesive stamps -- there are higher-priced products sold to the stamp collecting world, but many stamp collectors seem not to like paying premium prices.

What my wife has discovered is that competing "all natural" citrus-oil based air fresheners seem to work just as well.

How did someone discover that something worked well for something so far off label?  My guess is that someone accidentally sprayed air freshener on a dirty surface and then, when they tried to wipe up the mess, they discovered that it not only cut the grease but also removed tape residue or something similar.
