I had a pullbar spring break on my model 15 today. I've pulled it apart
and see also that the ribbon oscillator lever that goes down to the
pullbar pawl is broken. It's not clear in the parts list which part this
is. I THINK it is the extension (part number 74726 at
https://navy-radio.com/manuals/tty/jh/ttyman1/TeletypeManuals/model15/1037B-Iss6.pdf#page=31
). Does that look correct?
Also, the ribbon lockout described at
https://www.bitsavers.org/communications/teletype/15/144_Model15_Descr_Feb31.pdf#page=23
(keeping the ribbon oscillator from raising the ribbon if you are typing
stencils!) is a floating part that easily falls out.
The ribbon lockout bar with its detent spring are shown at
http://bitsavers.org/communications/teletype/15/138_Model15_Adj_Oct41.pdf#page=85
. But, it's difficult to figure out where this goes. Does anyone have a
photograph or better explanation as to where the ribbon lockout bar goes?
Also, I assume the ribbon lockout is manually activated, so there has to
be a control that can be reached somewhere. Where is that?
THANKS!
Harold
