Wayne,
Thanks for the pictures. Reading the link on the ASR33 rebuild, I see that one of the first problems that REVK addresses is exactly what I seem to be seeing https://www.revk.uk/2020/12/asr33-restoration.html .
He/She refers to “washers in the wrong place when we re-fitted the keyboard making it slight (sic) higher than it should be.”
I don’t have any washers at all on the two screws that hold in the keyboard.
Looking on the parts manual (page 6 of the pdf, labelled page 2), I notice part 185871 which is the screw(s) in question, but I see no washer underneath it.
Does anyone know to which washers REVK refers?
Thanks,
Peter

Peter,
Yes, the 3 piece black rotor is the distributor.
Look for good alignment of the printer in its 4 rubber bushings.
Is the keyboard fully in the slots it slides into in the front of the pan?
Check to see if the distributor shaft release lever is sticking or slow to return to stop the clutch and may need freeing up. See pics. The third pic shows it best. I had to add the arrow for clarity for you.
Three things will trip the distributor clutch, the Answerback, the Tape reader and the Keyboard. If there is binding or congealed grease at the bottom of the shaft the kybd will be slow to move back to its stopping position.
You can check the kybd reset adjustment and if its OK then there is another issue, typically binding or congealed grease in the movement. Look deep into the bottom of the trip lever and you will see a shaft with rubber bushings on both ends. That is where the binding will be.
Yes, its either binding or the printer or kybd is not in correctly or lastly the kybd reset needs adjusting.
I should have asked this first but did you have trouble with the distributor spinning before you removed the kybd? If it was working well at that time its not an adjustment.
All the above checks can be done with the power unplugged.
Best regards,
Wayne
