It's documented in:

schematic, and Figure 8 for the wiring diagram)

My REC-11 serves its design-intent as my main loop-supply just fine!

Given that my RA-87 is in not-great condition I've been thinking of
repurposing as (1) a line isolation transformer, and (2) an "up converter"
with fixed voltage taps at 95, 105, 115, 125, 190, 210, 230 and 250 VAC. I
have a modest Variac (autotransformer) for continuous fiddling, but only
down-voltage and non-isolated (of course). Several decades ago I had a nice
line-isolation transformer for TV servicing work but somehow I lost it along
the way :-<.

This repurposing is a bit sacrilegious, I know. I'd be flipping the primary
and secondary windings and removing the DC circuitry. All components could
be left-in-place; just completely rewired. At 600 watts (AC+DC; it's
actually fused 15A 230V input but only 0.5A time-delay DC output) it's a
boat-anchor beast that could get a new lease on life under my electrical /
electronic workbench. It's not clear to me whether the 0.5A limitation is
intrinsic to the gauge of the secondary winding or some other factor
(rectifiers or choke). Before I explore further .

Would I be worthy of a barrage of rotten fruit should I go down this path?
Other comments?
