[GreenKeys] Ongoing Model 15 Issues

As I remember on my three 19s, the screws are “tight” or “firm" against the rail… not abrasive nor any friction, but there’s very little room for any movement. This might be the key!
It’s really not that hard to get the basket off. Just flip the one lever on the left side, unhook the carriage return ribbon (careful for the snapback on the spool!) and just slide ‘er off ;p . Getting it back on is a little trickier, as you have to line everything up just right (and also wind the spool enough to return the carriage right / get the ribbon back on the type basket)… but do it enough times, it gets pretty easy with some practice :) . As I remember, that one part that I can’t remember the name of (in-between the blades) has to be unlocked and able to move freely, to get things off and back on.
(it’d probably just be easiest to measure how much you need to screw the screw in while on the rails and then do it while measuring when off)

And I can see from your photo that your machine doesn’t have much clearance between the screw head and the top of the slot it rides in. My machine, or should I say Chris’ machine, has a very large clearance, so I’m now convinced that is the issue. Now just to figure our how to make the adjustment.

The areas in the red circles are the only parts on the basket that make contact with the printing unit. Also attached is a photo of one those two, fun screws that might be an issue. You might be able to get around loosening them up with some needle nose pliers, but maybe also expect some chewed up metal in the process.

That being said — after glancing over your first email Steve, the *part name here* being out of place could be your issue - but as almost the case, I could (probably) be wrong ;p .
