I figured this may be the place to ask. I was cleaning up my garage and came across what appears to be a power supply, listed as 1000vac and 500vac. Any ideas as what it could have been for? It has a model plate, naturally model rs-2000, and serial number “5”. Its very old, likely 30s-40s, its just a small box about 8” wide and 6” deep with transformers and a single tube inside.

It has two plugs...one on the front im assuming thats the main output, and a small twist-lock plug on the side labeled “break down test”.

The crazier part is that it also has a bell inside. I hear it “ding” every time I put it down.

Im not even sure where I got this, but Im not sure Ill ever need a 1000 volt power supply. Im assuming its for running the plates in high powered tube gear?
