Here is an ad for the Microdec from Popular Communications magazine, Dec.
1991.  Seems that the B/D/S options are for bit inversion.  Still not sure
what setting means what, however.

It makes sense that I got the VIP50 with the MD300, since that seems to be
the combo you'd get when buying the MD300.
