[GreenKeys] Ham RTTY and military RATT

Murphy’s Law says I have made some error that is intuitively obvious to
even the most casual observer, but here goes:

I operate my Navy RATT gear with no modifications to "ham standard". I work
850 shift military standard RATT and 170 shift ham standard RTTY with no
problems. So far no one has ever noticed or complained.
Here is my cheat sheet
----------------------
NOTE - This drives me crazy - Military specifies either USB suppressed
carrier frequency F (or sometimes the RF center frequency = F+2000Hz). Hams
*usually* specify the LSB suppressed carrier frequency F (or sometimes the
MARK frequency = F-2125Hz)
-----------------------
For 850 shift military standard - (USB, mark low, 2000 +/-425 Hz tone)
Receiver (USB or RATT mode) to desired frequency (F=7087.0 kHz for
clatternet)
Transmitter (USB or RATT mode) to desired frequency (F=7087.0 kHz for
clatter net)
CV-3510B Navy AFSK TU to HF receive, HF transmit (2000 +/-425 Hz)
----------------------------
For 170 shift ham standard (LSB, mark high, 2210 +/-85 Hz tone)
for example F=14086.0 kHz autostart channel
Receiver (LSB mode) to F-0.5 kHz (e.g. 14085.5 kHz)
Transmitter (LSB mode) to F-0.5 kHz (e.g. 14085.5 kHz)
CV-3510B to MMF receive, MMF transmit (1700 +/-85 Hz)
NOTE - the resulting center tone is 1700+500=2200.
This center is 10 Hz off the ham standard but it makes no practical
difference. In practice the ham will either ignore it or more likely
slightly retune to your center frequency. Hams have 1Hz or 10Hz resolution.
Military gear has 100 Hz resolution.
-----------------------------------
NOTE - The R-1051 receivers use the same filters and circuitry for RATT and
USB - there is no difference. So do NOT use RATT for ham use.

GOOD LUCK!
