Yes the round holes will be too small. All later production TDs
probably had the rectangular holes to work with either kind of tape. I
never saw a round hole version coming out of Bell System surplus in the
sixties.
I sent Paul several lids last year, but I don't recall which style they
were. Probably round hole removed for a mod kit for chadless.
If he doesn't have the correct ones for chadless, perhaps drilling the
round holes larger would work, but certainly not as well as the correct
lid.
