[GreenKeys] Seeking Info for Beginner

Welcome. These machines are mechanical engineering marvels and great fun to
learn about and use.
There are a few publications listed here:
https://www.navy-radio.com/manuals-ttycorp.htm#books

I’d recommend “TTY for the Deaf” as a good practical introduction.

With no signal input, teletype machines “run open”, just continuously
cycling a null character. You’ll read about the need for a 60ma current
loop circuit so that your keyboard will talk to your printing unit. There
are a bunch of people on the list who have hooked up their teletypes to
computers too.

Have fun!
Nick
