[GreenKeys] Things to ponder or not

I've always wondered about the derivation of some of the other baud rates.

It would appear that 45.45 baud came from some decision to have 22 mS
wide pulses, and 50 baud with it's 20 mS wide pulse makes one wonder if
that was picked on the basis of 50 Hz power. In either case we have
more or less round number for the pulse width. I suspect it might have
been determine by the mechanical design of the cams or distributor
segments.

So then we get into 75 wpm and 100 wpm speeds. Take 75 wpm. Looking at
the speed chart near the top of page
http://www.navy-radio.com/manuals-ttycorp.htm, you'll see a baud rate of
56.9 and pulse length of 0.0175.

If you use 56.9 to calculate pulse width you get 0.01757469.....
If you take pulse width of 0.0175 and calculate the baud rate, you get
57.14285......

Which of the two number should one consider the governing one? I
suspect the pulse width should be it, but was or is it?

And then looking at the chart for ~100 wpm you can get a headache.
