You're not in trouble with me!

But for remote Morse keying of the transmitters we quickly found that an
on/off tone would not cut it.  Thus one of our guys engineered and built
modern equivalents of the send and receive tone sets originally used a KPH
which employ AFSK.

Reading AFSK Morse by ear turns out to be remarkably difficult.  It's like
one of those visual illusion drawings where first you see one thing, then
the other.  At some point the brain may lock on the mark tone and the Morse
jumps out at you.  But at another point the brain may lose that lock and
you find yourself trying to copy reverse Morse!
