     Many years ago now a friend who was CE of KFWB, the 
Westinghouse owned all news station here bragged he had the best 
teletype sound effect in town, the competition being KNX, the CBS 
owned all news station. Then CBS and Westinghouse merged and KFWB 
is now Spanish language but not news. These days a Teletype sound 
would not be recognized by most radio listeners.
