I’m pretty sure the 74A also supports straight RS-232 but others with more recent experience (and less memory loss) are sure to give the skinny.

Subject: [GreenKeys] Newbie with an AN/UGC-74A
Hi, I'm new to this list. I recently bought an AN/UGC-74A. Mine is in pretty good shape but suffered from the melted roller issue that appears to be common with these. I cleaned up most of the goop, replaced the rubber on the rollers with some neoprene tubing, replaced the ink ribbon, and the machine seems to be working fine. The question now is what to do with it. While I have been interested in RTTY on and off for many years, I am new to these older machines, current loops, etc. I'd like to have it print from my HAL-CT2200 decoder, which has both current loop and RS-232 connections. I assume that for a current loop connection, I would use pin G, REC DATA HI, and pin S, SIGNAL RTN, on the J1 data connector. Is that correct? I also understand that the DATA LO connections on the UGC-74 are for MIL-188, which is similar to, but not quite, RS-232. Any help would be very much appreciated.
