[GreenKeys] Understanding ASR Wiring

As a reference point I'm using this link:
http://www.navy-radio.com/manuals/tty/wd/28ASR-wd-7901.pdf

And mainly pages 20 thru 22 and pages 25 thru 27 (pages 23 & 24 are for TDs
I don't have; I have a LXD 4).

I think this one would work as well as it is only a one page document
(schematic only):
http://www.navy-radio.com/manuals/tty/jh/ttyman9/drawings/m28-13.pdf

The first document is just more comprehensive.

How does the signal that comes in on C5 (+) and C15 (-) get "transferred" to
the selector magnets? Is there a theory of operation that explains this
process?

Is it induced in the coils of the line relay, that then operate the contacts
in the internal loop? That's how I'm reading the schematic, but want to
verify my assumptions.

Also is the newer sealed relay completely pin compatible with the older 255
relay? Mine is labeled 255 right on the socket itself. I now have to find
a sealed relay that I know is around here somewhere but not in the socket of
my ASR!

Thanks in advance for the help I know is forthcoming!
