First used, I believe, in FAA system called BDIS. There was ADIS, an
acronym for Automatic Data Interchange System, which was for weather
data, which FAA calls Service A. So BDIS was for Service B, which is
flight plans and other kinds of directed messages, and is a sort of
pun on ADIS.

Second use in a 750 wpm tape-to-tape system, Dataspeed Type V. I suspect
very few of the receivers were sold, as the main use of this system was
for data collection where the transmitter was at an out office location
and a computer connected direct to the modem at the receive location.

Another use was in Long Lines Project 176 high speed system for the
government. I think it was here that the eddy current problem cropped
up.
