The narrower paper is standard for pinfeed Teletype as well. the paper
is 8 1/2" wide including the margins with the holes. Some people on
this list from time to time have published sources of this kind of paper,
and I seem to recall one that is fairly recent. The modern pinfeed
printers use paper that is 9 1/2" wide so the strips with the feed holes
can be torn off, leaving 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper.
If only we had a time machine and could go back and whisper in Sterling
Morton's ear when he was designing the Model 15 printer, "Make the platen
an inch wider!" Teletype did come up with a mod kit for Model 35 to
accomodate the wider paper.
As for the other questions, others on the list are more Mite-savvy than
I am, but I'm unfamiliar with any version having a DB-25 connector and
those options you mention. The two military versions I know a little
about are the TGC-14 and the UGC-41. You can google for those and
probably come up with complete or partial manuals. Wonder if yours is
yet another military version, or if it was specially modified by
somebody else for some other purpose. Anything on the nameplate that
would suggest a model number or something?
