[GreenKeys] ASR 33 problems

Hi Group.

As you probably are aware of , I am trying to restore an ASR33.

 

Now, it obviously does not work.

So far I have changed all the Electrolytics on the various cards.

All solenoids seems to work.

But, when powered up, it starts print and punch immediately, despite to be
in local mode.

When powered off, and I turn the motor manually, same thing happens, like
all the clutches are seized in engaged position.

Would it be recommended to disassemble the main shaft and clean the clutches
thoroughly.

Or is there something else I have missed totally?

 

The lever on the tape-reader has only two positions, and one set of
contacts, nothing is printed on the cover explaining the actual function.

 

One other things that puzzles me, is the plastic lever under the H-plate,
how is it actuated, is it supposed to go into the opening on the back of the
keyboard, or should it just go in under the keyboard.
