Hi Al --
I'm very near you, in Middletown NJ. I don't know if this would be useful
to you, but I'm just finishing up a project that consists of an Arduino Uno
that takes serial data from the USB port (driven by a W10 computer, R-Pi,
etc) and will output that data as 5 unit baudot code at either 60, 66, 75
or 100 WPM; it also outputs a signal for motor control output with
appropriate timing. The USB side requires that the data source honor
XonXoff flow control, and it seems to work well at USB serial speeds up to
250,000 (not that I like to run it that fast!). An in-development
embellishment of the device is also the ability to send canned messages
from the Arduino code ROM to the TTY, triggered by a push button or
external input (like a motion sensor). My thought was to do something that
might be helpful as a demo for museum situations.
I also have a low voltage selector magnet driver in development, but that
probably won't be finalized until early January.
Best wishes,
Paul Newland, ad7i
