[GreenKeys] How to brighten up those dull, heavy metal cases...

Hey all,

I don’t know if this has been mentioned before, but I found a way to brighten up those dull, rusty, scuffed-up, water stained heavy metal cases - for use on 15’s, 19’s, 14’s, etc. What I’ve done a couple of times now is I take 5w-40 full synthetic oil and put on a thin layer with a cloth or paper towel (swirling it on), onto the heavy metal. If the case is in real bad shape, a heavy coating will do with re-wipes every day or two, as needed. I wish I took pictures of the before and after results (actually, I might have with one - will have to do some digging), but the full synthetic not only cleans - the heavy metal soaks it up like crazy(!), rejuvenating the paint/metal... and boy does it look nice ;D ! The only downside is if you get the oil onto the metal placards (such as the on/off placard labels, the teletype placard, etc.), the oil will turn the white into a golden brown, so you have to watch out for that… but even then, it looks nice that way ;p . Recently on one the heavy metals, it looks as if the white is returning to the placards, so try that trick on your own placards at your own risk ;p . Anywho, seems to have worked great so far and will continue to try this trick as I can :) … and will also send photos as I find them ;o . Cheers ^_^ ~
