It occurs to me also that a relay coil needn't be in series. Place the relay coil in parallel with the selector magnet coil.

What sort of relay would you suggest to me to put the coil of the relay in series with my TTY loop that would not bog it down with either too much dc resistance or LC? I need it to key a future FSK unit that is keyed by shorting two terminals on the unit itself. Short for mark, open for space. I will use a relay for this function. The relay would also have to be fast enough to work at 60 WPM.
