What we did at college when we put out Model 19 station on the air was to tape a reed relay onto the selector magnets & ran twisted pair (or was it small coax?) from it to key a diode & trimmer cap in our TCS transmitter vfo. Worked fine. This was one of the old ham radio FSK methods, we didn't invent the idea.

Subject: [GreenKeys] Relay suggestions

Hi All,
What sort of relay would you suggest to me to put the coil of the relay in series with my TTY loop that would not bog it down with either too much dc resistance or LC? I need it to key a future FSK unit that is keyed by shorting two terminals on the unit itself. Short for mark, open for space. I will use a relay for this function. The relay would also have to be fast enough to work at 60 WPM.
Thank you once again.
Best,
Joe KB0TXC
