>From reading the Teletype manuals, I gather the following.  (I add that caveat because I've yet to actually use this function myself.)  There exists on some (all?) Teletype keyboards a motor stop function that when sent over the line will turn off all machines' motors on that line.  Pressing the BREAK key is a way to reverse the motor stop function, returning the machines to running.

Now that I know what the "HERE IS" key is for, there is another read button on my machine that I am wondering about. It is labeled simply as "BREAK". What is this for?
