Yes, it was 1/4" (as I recall) narrow yellow paper tape with 
gummed back (similar to what postage stamps used back 
then) ...  the message was typed on the Strip Printer and 
the narrow tape was then moistened and pasted onto the 
official Telegram form ...  in fact, there is a special tool 
that was used for that, with a long round tube for the water 
and a small sponge on the end to rub against the gummed 
side of the paper tape ...
