[GreenKeys] "HERE IS" Button

Hi Again,
I just "popped the top" of my '28, and there is no drum there. Just the button. 

This is the unit that Jack K0TTY Hart gave to me about ten years ago. The unit has Western Union labeling. No Drum, nothing happens when I push the button.
In a way I am glad... I want to be able to have all of the characters arrive and be printed and not to set something off while receiving.
I am still trying to figure out how to post photos. I have several really neat machines and a bunch of questions. I hope that the list does not get tired of my constant questions.
One of these machines was given to me by Gil Smith. It is a tape printer that prints on very narrow tape. I have been told that I can find this paper tape from Chinese suppliers. I only have the roll that is in the machine. It too is a Western Union machine. The tape (I have been told) would be cut into certain size lengths and pasted on message cards. It is really a neat unit. All of the features work on it except the line meter. I want to look at that tomorrow and figure out why. There are two jeweled lamps on the keyboard, one to alert the user that the tape is running low, and the other (which I want to work) to let the user know that they have hit the end of a line and that the CR needs to be hit. With this machine, I cleaned the case and the keyboard. I learned (on my own) how to get the keys into all of the holes in the keyboard cover. It is really simple if you have skinny fingers! It simply amazes me that something this mechanical can work after years of sitting covered in plastic. I did nothing with my TTY machines while my wife and I had to take care of the grandkids. I did cover them and made sure they were in a dry, climate controlled room... they were not in a garage or barn. No mouses. Now I am having a blast getting them running and playing Teletype! 

I looped the 28 ASR to the 28 tape printer and they were able to talk to each other, and they worked perfectly.
