Kevin,

The TT-483 is a TT-98 that transmits two standard bits for the stop bit, 
ie, a 8.00 code instead of the standard 7.42 code. So you transmitted 
thru-put will be slightly slower, but the machine is compatible with all 
5-bit machines.

The manual is TM 11-5815-200-xx and is available at 
http://rattrig.com/manuals/tm's.htm. Take a look at the rest of the 
RATTRIG website to see how the US Army used these machines from the 
1950s through the 1980s.

Unfortunately, I do not know of any source for parts.
