You can learn interesting but semi-useless facts such as the LBXD800 was capable reading 8 bit tape, but transmitted 7.42 at any of the normal 5 bit speeds.  Or that the LBXD8 was designed for the high to low 28RT.  One normally thinks of the climbing head LAXD being used on the RT set.  

When one is stuck in the middle of nowhere with a decent internet connection and there's nothing interesting on the streaming services you look for something you haven't already read on navy-radio.com.
