I don't think I have any documentary evidence for existence of the LRXD.
I saw one at the factory one time.  The probable application is the Bell
81D1 switching system, which was originally done with Model 15 line
stuff and thus with a maximum of 75 wpm.  I've seen a BSP somewhere
about converting 81D1 to operate at 100 wpm, and that would be a good
application for a drop-in replacement for the FRXD.  But for any sort
of new design the newer model R-T stands would have been the choice
since they held big tape reels.
