Hi all!

Tks Jim for providing the info re: the dwindling
world of Telex...

The "Faint ping" was a very interesting story...

I personally witnessed the last 50 Telex subscribers
being switched off the TWK exchange and assigned
to a "Concentrator" unit between Ottawa, Ont.,
and Montreal, Que.

It truly was the last vestige of real Telex svc
in Canada...

Ironically now, the i-Telex network probably has more
active "Subscrbers" in Europe and North America,
than in the latter days of actual Telex operation...

It still is a wonderful feeling to press the start button,
dial a distant number, and in a few seconds,
connect to another subscriber and for that moment,
relive the glory days of that venerable service now long past!
