Nick, N0NCQ, and I took a short road trip yesterday to take a look at the
M19 with the reperf shelf that was on a Craig's list posting a week or so
ago, but we didn't depart the facility with it in tow.
The machine, while it seemed in fairly decent shape for it's age, had some
things that made Nick and I just a little hesitant to take the machine.
Especially since neither of us has the room to store the machine until
someone might want to come pick it up. The guy was willing to negotiate a
little on the price but wouldn't come down to what my final offer was. And
since I'm cramped for space (the shed is full) I had to pass on the deal.
The call control unit is just an empty shell, nothing is there. The reperf
with shelf attached to the table seemed in decent shape. The main unit
cover was missing the glass (not a big deal) but also the rest of the cover
that folds back to access the paper roll. I also did not see the paper roll
spindle. However the platen crank WAS there.
The back side of the table had the panel with all the plugs, jacks, and
fuses just hanging down in a jumbled mess. It looked as if everything was
there, but would take some effort to get it all back together. There is a
power supply, but not the one with the big blue glowing rectifier tubes. It
may have been a WU change (or later Teletype change).
The printer was not attached to the base with any of the normal screws. I
found only one of the screws but the end was crusted up with I don't know
what an wouldn't screw into the two tie down points I tried.
If anyone is interested in this machine I can provide the contact info and
offer what assistance I can. Contact me off list.
Nick and I did take some more pics, Nick more that I.
