[GreenKeys] M28 Compact Keyboard perf/reperf

When we got a KWR-37 in our Comm Center, we also got a new Model 28 KSR and a 28KTR.
The KSR was the first machine I'd ever seen run at 100WPM. I figured it would last maybe two
months at that speed. (Wrong again, Ralph!) The KTR could be turned on and off for making
tapes that ended up in the off line Crypto room for decoding.

This was aboard the USS Hancock, in the Pacific Fleet, back in the 1959 - 1961 time frame. I
got out in March of 1961. Strong hints of what not to talk about ensued. Months later, the FBI
was still investigating my most recent "long form" of Clearance renewal. I never did conclude
whether it was 'completeness' on their part or just constantly being behind in their work.

I had a neighbor ask me if I was in some kind of trouble. When I told him "No," he then asked
me why the FBI had been to his office asking about me? About a week later I got a phone call
from the Detroit FBI office. They were following up on the investigation. When I told the agent
that I was not 'home on leave', but released from Active Duty, he thanked me and ended the call.

Interesting toys and interesting times.

Subject: [GreenKeys] M28 Compact Keyboard perf/reperf

A couple of years ago I acquired a M28 Compact keyboard typing reperf (M32 style electrical keyboard and smaller case than the normal 28KTR). No one had ever seen one before.

I just came across a Teletype Corp photo of a Compact non-typing perf in a Navy manual.

This strengthens my supposition that this was a model Teletype hoped to sell to the Navy, but never got bought.
If you have any info or other sightings of a Compact keyboard perf/reperf please let me know.

FWIW, here is the normal 28KTR
