A unique identifier is okay as long as the 'glass' guys know what it is. 
Some may not work you with a strange
appended id, just a thought.

The other problem with the off frequency, one or both of you had 
something offset, his RIT or your XIT. Either
way you get a forehead slap when you figure it out :-).
