Just submitted my CABRILLO (love that name) Log, I had a good year - total to remain a secret for now.

 

I do not think I got to work any GKers in the contest, at least nobody commented to that effect.

 

Steve, I had the same problem with one guy, his call was:  VY2/W5AJ - he let me know that "HE KNEW HIS CALL ALREADY". You could feel the anger! I guess he did not want me to slow him down...so I took a minute to properly apologize "SRY OM BAND CNDX POOR, I AM VERY SRRY FOR SLOWING DOWN YOUR PACE, I CANNOT APOLOGIZE ENOUGH, PLS FORGIV TNX".

 

I guess I wont be on his Christmas card list next year.

 

Band conditions were overall poor for me, especially on the higher bands.

 

Don't forget the short deadline on log submissions - make sure you correctly format for the overlay!

OK, how many Greenkeyers made contacts with their Heavy Metal?

 

I wasn’t able to get my Heavy Metal on the air, I did make some contacts using FLDIgi and the my Flex radio.

 

The only QSO I had with a real TTY on the other end that I’m aware of was with Russ, WA3FRP.  Thanks Russ!  How did you do?

 

I only made 105 QSOs (I had set a goal of 100) with 40 multipliers but as only my second RTTY contest I don’t think that was too bad.

 

Hey Dave, W5DT, and Jeff, WK6I, how do you think Heavy Metal in general fared in the contest?  Maybe too soon to know.

 

I did have one operator tell me, and several others, not repeat his call sign when giving our signal report and state.  I could only guess he was concerned those extra characters were slowing him down.  As if the admonishment wasn’t!  Go figure.
