Regarding the Black Box Current Loop Interface Unit - 232/CL-E:
There are two versions of the 232/CL-E. The first is the CL050A which is intended for low
voltage use. Low voltage means that it is looking to key a selector magnet driver. It should
not be used to directly key the magnets. The CL050A can supply an 18 volt loop at either
20 or 60 ma. As a passive device, it can key a loop as long as it does not exceed 30 volts.
Here's the link to the manual for the Black Box CL050A:
http://ftp.blackbox.com/manuals/C/CL050A.pdf
… The CL050A can be made to work with high voltage loops by the addition of a few
outboard components. …
I've used the Black Box CL050A and it works just fine.

I’m ever-curious Jerry. Would you mind elaborating on “addition of a few outboard components”? Guessing that there’s a solid-state relay involved …
Thank you,
paul
