This reminds me of something that's been bothering me. In the spoof of
Poe's "The Raven" (I must transcribe it soon), there is the line:
"By a legal waiver granted, with thy sixth bane firmly canted"
It's a poor scan so that "bane" could be "vane" I guess, but what would
that mean?
